Top tips for making pesto pastrami puff pastry twists:
Use the best vegan deli meat you can find. For us that’s Nonno’s in Hamilton, Ontario. But if you don’t have access to it, try the recipe with your favourite vegan deli meat (pastrami or not).
Use your favourite non-dairy cheese. Not all cheese is created equal and we don’t need to specify a brand to use, simply use what you have or is your favourite but it should be shredded.
Bake until a deep golden brown. Following the time and instructions on the puff pastry box is a good starting point, but we really want a flaky texture and deep golden brown colour so don’t be afraid to push it a bit.
Best fresh. You can store it to enjoy leftovers later (we did), but the best they’re going to taste is fresh the same day so we don’t recommend trying to prep ahead.
